Colors of Creation

Look, see, listen, be still
The wind traveling through the hills
Feel it, the breath of creation
Blowing into the chasms of the earth

Look, see, listen, be still
The dark rainclouds filling up the sky
Hear it, as the rolling thunders cry
And flashes of lightning illuminate the night

Look see, listen, be still
The lilies of the field dressed in splendor
Smell it, the aroma of blooming flowers
More beautiful after every rain shower

Look, see, listen, be still
The fruits of every size, shape, and color
Taste it, the harvest of the ground
A sweeter taste cannot be found

Look, see, listen, be still
The colorful hues of the sunset sky
Watch it, as the sun lights the sky on fire
Just bask in God’s creation and in awe, admire

Look, see, listen, be still
The colors painted in the rainbow
Believe it, God’s covenant of peace
Call on Him, and all our storms will cease

Colors of Salvation

Look, see, listen, be still
The blood running down Calvary’s hill
Feel it, the breath of life
Breathing into the chasms of our hearts

Look, see, listen, be still
The orchestra of Angels coming from the sky
Hear it, the voice of God in a trembling cry
Empowering us with light so that we can illuminate the night

Look, see, listen, be still
The King dressed in His robe and crown of splendor
Smell it, The aroma of His unfailing love
At His throne we must bow in surrender

Look, see, listen, be still
People of every size, shape, and color
Taste it, the Harvest of God’s Kingdom
The sweetness found in freedom

Look, see, listen, be still
The color of God’s salvation
Watch it, as His promises and revelations come true
And don’t be surprised, if he decides to call on YOU

Look, see, listen, be still
Our sins nailed to the cross
Believe it, God’s covenant of salvation
Call on Him, and Heaven will be the final destination

questions

Questions

How would it be, to be Warlike Achilles
Swift and strong and tall, godlike,
Flirting between Earth and Heaven’s portal
Yet in the end, be still mortal

Or maybe Cunning Odysseus
Wise and witty, favored among the gods
Yet for home too long will I yearn
And too weary of war upon my return

Perhaps Great Ajax
Towering over my enemies
Slashing and smashing and causing strife
Yet losing honor means losing life

And Stalwart Diomedes
Without weakness and without hubris
Young and fierce and dignified
Yet whose bloodlust is never satisfied

What would I sacrifice for the ones I love
Would I give them stolen fire
Only myself to be chained
And delivered to the sky god’s ire?

How would I feel if I was Atlas
The burden of the entire world upon my shoulders
Would I crumble under the weight
How much of it would I be able take?

What would I do with strength like Heracles
Labors and deeds make me a hero
Witnesses of my works will applaud
And in death I will be risen as a god

If I had wings like Icarus,
How high would I fly
Would I glide between the sea and the sky
Or would my pride take me too high?

If I was Aeneas,
Would I choose my destiny over my love?
Would I be the cause of her endless grief
In order to claim my inheritance from above?

So is the life of the mortals
At one instance to be the most glorious of heroes
And the next struck in the heel by Apollo’s arrow
We pursue our destiny and leave our love behind
Hoping that love and fate are somehow intertwined
How must we live then, if none are spared from the grave?
Is there a special place in heaven for the strong and the brave?
What must we do
To have ourselves remembered in the heavens
To have our names in the sky engraven
Because wouldn’t it be fantastic
To have your tale remembered as a classic?

Greatness Revealed

Greatness revealed through works of Your hand
To no other power in awe will I stand
You have blessed me beyond all reason
Remaining faithful in and out of season
Your grace to me makes no sense
How can you love one with sin so immense?
For so long to the world was I enslaved
Until my Savior came, my sins You forgave

So now I cry out to You for my world
With the hope that Your banner will unfurl
Why do we hold on so tight to our sin
When with You, a greater life is to begin
We choose the World to lord over our lives
Depending on its pleasures to survive
But I will keep my hope and keep my faith
For You hold Your people in Your embrace

Throughout time Your love and glory has been revealed
And one day , to us Your face will again be unveiled

So would You remind us of what we forgot
That YOU ARE GOD, and the World is not
